Since 2008, we've been Tanzania's leading voice in parenting education and family wellbeing, combining media innovation with maternal health advocacy.
Tanzania's first and leading parenting media company, established under the Companies Act, 2002
Mama na Mwana Care began as Tanzania's first parenting blog in November 2008. Registered as Mama na Mwana Care under the Business Names Registration Act in 2009, we later established Mama na Mwana Care Media Limited as a private company limited by shares under the Companies Act, 2002 of Tanzania.
We started with a simple mission: to ensure every pregnant woman in Tanzania has access to accurate, life-saving information about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
Today, we've grown into a multi-faceted organization combining media production, health education, tourism, real estate, and consultancy services - all united by our commitment to family wellbeing.
Started Tanzania's first parenting blog, focusing on pregnancy and newborn care.
Registered as a business and later established as Mama na Mwana Care Media Limited.
Launched large-scale seminars that brought pregnant mothers together with health experts.
Scaled WhatsApp groups and launched the Swahili pregnancy app "Mama Kijacho".
Combining media, health education, tourism and consultancy to support families across Tanzania with over 15 years of experience and thousands of families impacted.
To raise awareness among pregnant women about maternal and newborn health while providing innovative media solutions and sustainable business services.
A Tanzania where every pregnant woman is well-informed about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn health. To be East Africa's leading media and family care company.
Integrity, innovation, family-centric approach, community engagement, and sustainable practices guide all our work at Mama na Mwana Care.
Addressing Tanzania's persistent maternal mortality crisis
Most pregnant women in Tanzania do not seek the recommended four antenatal care visits. Even among those who do, less than half receive crucial information about pregnancy complications or fetal development.
The core issue isn't lack of healthcare facilities, but a critical information gap. Women don't seek care because they don't understand its importance, leading to preventable maternal deaths.
Our Core Belief: An informed mother is as crucial to eliminating maternal mortality as trained medical professionals. Mothers are the center of maternal health - an informed mother makes life-saving decisions.
